Akhisar manager Mustafa Akçay believes his side played well despite losing 3-1 against Beşiktaş

“I do not think the score reflects the game, we lost but we did play well,” Akçay said.

“We squandered a few good chances and there were decisions that did not go our way but I do not want to get into that.

“This club operates on a small budget, we know our limitations, our goal as always is to avoid relegation so we are not under any pressure or stress.

“We are performing better than many would have expected but I still think we could have had more than 17 points at this stage.

“If we get 4-6 points from our remaining games before the winter break it would be great.”

Akhisar are without a win in their last eight Süper Lig games and have lost their last five away games.

The Akigo’s are currently in 10th position and face 16th placed Rizespor next week.
