£30m Arsenal target dropped from Champions League squad, West Ham confirm interest & Turkish champions in race

Pep Guardiola

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has dropped Wilfried Bony from the squad yet again going into the Champions League second-leg clash against  Steaua Bucharest.

Bony has not featured at all for Guardiola this season and the Spanish coach has made it clear he has no place for the Ivory Coast international.

City match day squad:

Manchester City: Hart, Maffeo, Stones, Kolarov, Clichy, Fernando, Toure, Delph, Nolito, Navas, Iheanacho

Subs: Gunn, Adarabioyo, Angelino, Fernandinho, Aguero, Sterling, Silva

West Ham want Bony on loan and head coach Slaven Bilic has confirmed interest according to the BBC.

“He is a good player,” Bilic added. “He is an option because he plays in the position where, even before the injuries, we tried to sign a player.

“We have a couple of players we are trying to do a deal with.”

The Hammers may however, only be able to sign Bony on a six-month loan deal according to the Telegraph.

Per the source, Bony has a deal in place with an unnamed Chinese Super League club – although City have not confirmed the rumour.

The East London based outfit could face competition from Arsenal who are being linked with a £30 million move according to the Daily Star.

Turkish champions Besiktas meanwhile also in the race after club president travelled to England to hold talks with City over a loan deal for Bony a source close to the club told Turkish-football.com.
