Agent confirms interest in Liverpool & Chelsea target Caner Erkin but denies offers

Fenerbahce full-back Caner Erkin has been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Inter and Stoke City over the last few days.

Erkin’s agent Batur Altiparmak has revealed that he has received enquiries for the Turkish international but denied mentioning any names to the press.

The Sabah newspaper reported that United and Chelsea became the latest two sides to join the race for Erkin today.

Altiparmak however, told Turkish-football.com: “There have been enquiries from 5-6 teams but I have not mentioned names of any clubs and no agreements have been reached either.”

The 26-year-old was claimed to have struck a £4.2 million pre-agreement deal with Inter according to the Express.

Altiparmak was quick to deny the transfer speculation underlining that no deal has been reached with any club.

“There have been enquiries but no formal offers have been made and no deal has been struck,” he added.

Erkin has attracted interest from across Europe and could be available on a free-transfer in the summer if Fenerbahce fail to sign a contract extension deal.

The former Galatasaray and CSKA man has just six-months remaining on his current contract deal.
