Alexis Sanchez urges £20m Barcelona star to join Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez has urged Arsenal to sign Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan according to the Sun.

Per the source, the Chile international wants the Gunners to sign the 29-year-old over the summer transfer window and Barca would accept a £20m bid.

Sanchez did not actually play with Turan but knows the Turkish intentional well from his time playing for Barcelona. The bearded midfielder played for Atletico Madrid at the time where he established himself as a key member of Diego Simeone’s team.

Turan faces an uncertain future at Barca and the La Liga champions recently signed Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes which could push Turan down the pecking order.

The experienced midfielder has returned to training a week earlier than his teammates who were at the European Championships in order to get back in shape.

Turan missed the first half of last season due to the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club and his fitness suffered as a result after the restrictions were lifted in January.

The former Atleti man does have another four-years remanning on his contract and his agent Ahmet Bulut has stated that his client is happy at the club.

Speaking to Emre Sarigul of Turkish-football.com [via the Guardian], Bulut said: “The interest [in Arda] is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club.”
