Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone praised Arda Turan for his performance in the 3-1 win against Malaga.
Turan provided an assist in Atleti’s win on the weekend. Antoine Griezmann tapped in a cross from Turan three minutes before halftime to score the home sides second goal.
“Griezmann and Arda Turan played well. The team played a serious game, closed down well and didn’t leave any spaces,” Turan said.
“We didn’t have a good start to the second half. There wasn’t the same hard work and intensity.
“Then we grew and reacted well to their goal. We understood that putting Griezmann and Arda wide allowed us to counter well.
“Jose Gimenez did well with Godin. I’m happy for him.”
Turan tormented the Malaga defence with his mazey runs, the Turkish international winger completed the highest number of dribbles (3).
The 27-year-old also made 30 passes with a 93 percent accuracy and also put in a solid defensive performance carrying out three tackles.
Turan now has two goals and three assists in 14 appearances for Atleti this season.
