Arda Turan: ‘I hope Barcelona can win back-to-back Champions Leagues’

Arda Turan has had a brilliant start to his Barcelona career providing two assists in his last two league games.

Barcelona have actually won their last four games since Turan made his debut against Espanyol in the Spanish Cup a fortnight ago.

The reigning La Liga champions may have won all four games Turan has featured in scored 16 goals and conceded just the one but the bearded winger has his sights set on something bigger.

Turan has already won every domestic title in Spain and every trophy in European competition except the Champions League.

The Turkish international has made it clear that he wants Barcelona to become the first side to ever win the Champions League back-to-back.

“I hope Barcelona can win back-to-back Champions Leagues,” he said on the Que t’hi jueges! show on Radio station Cadena Ser.

“It’s what we talk about most in the dressing room and what really motivates us. We want to the be the first team to win consecutive Champions Leagues [in the modern era].”

Barcelona take on Premier League leaders Arsenal in the Champions League Last 16 however, Turan will be unable to play in the first-leg due to suspension. The 28-year-old is still serving a ban from last seasons competition when he was sent off against rivals Real Madrid.

Turan will be able to face the Gunners in the return leg and make his Champions League debut for Barcelona.
