Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo has praised Arda Turan’s contribution to the team.
Speaking with the Turkish newspaper Bugun, the 66-year-old President said, “Arda is a fantastic footballer. He is a football genius.
“Since he arrived at Atletico he has been a friend to me. I love his style of football. As long as Arda is on the field, something will happen.
“The fans love both his football and his character.”
Turan became the first Turkish player to win a La Liga title when Atletico Madrid lifted the title last season.
The Turkish international was also part of the Atleti side that reached the Champions League final.
The 27-year-old has become an integral part of Diego Simeone’s side. The duo duo have lifted the La Liga, Copa Del Rey, Europa League, European Super Cup and reached the Champions League final together.
