Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone heaped praise on Arda Turan following the 2-0 win over Granada at the Vicente Calderon stadium.
“Arda is at a point where he knows he’s a game-changer and the team needs him. In the time he’s been with us, he’s grown defensively. He has natural-born talent,” Simeone was quoted as saying by Inside Spanish Football.
Turan setup Atleti’s second goal against Granada. The Turkish internationals 89th minute cross rebounded off the back of Raul Garcia for the Rojiblano’s second goal of the game.
The 27-year-old Atleti star now has six assists in all competitions for the Spanish champions this season.
Turan completed 69 passes and had an accuracy of 82 percent against Granada – only Gabi completed more passes (74).
The win moved Atleti up into third place just four points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
The Turkish attacking midfielder has become an integral part of Simeone’s side since arriving from Galatasaray in 2011.
Turan became the first Turkish international to win the La Liga title last season and he has also won the Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and Copa Del Rey.
