Arda Turan plays staring role in Barcelona win over Gary Neville’s Valencia

Arda Turan was one of the stars of the show during Barcelona’s emphatic 7-0 victory over Valencia in the Copa del Rey yesterday evening.

The Turkish international stated the game in midfield alongside Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta. Turan played the full 90 minutes and received a rating of 8.6 from WhoScored for his performance.

The 29-year-old was Barcelona’s highest rated midfielder on the night and maintained a passing accuracy of 92%, took 88 touches on the pall and provided two key passes.

Turan also excelled in the defensive side of his game by making two successful tackles and making three interception.

The former Galatasaray man also provided the assist for Luis Suarez’s forth goal in the 88th minute when he dribbled past two Valencia midfielders and slipped a pass though to the in-form striker.

Turan has now provided as many assists in his opening eight appearances for Barcelona as he did in his last 32 matches for former side Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona have won all nine games since Turan made his debut scoring 32 goals in the process and conceding just five.
