Arda Turan is spoilt for choice in terms of candidates for footballing idols playing alongside some of the greatest players on planet Earth but one Barcelona star stands out more than most in the eyes of the bearded winger.
The Turkish international star revealed that Andres Iniesta is his footballing idol and that no player is comparable.
“[Andres] Iniesta is my idol, he is incredible,” he said on the Que t’hi jueges! show on Radio station Cadena Ser.
“Messi is the best player in history, but the way Iniesta plays in incomparable. He enjoys playing and you enjoy watching him play.”
Turan started alongside Iniesta on his Barcelona debut a fortnight ago against Espanyol in the Spanish Cup Last 16 first-leg.
Barcelona have won all four games since Turan has made his debut scoring 16 goals in the process and conceding just the once.
Turan has also provided two assists in his last two league games which is equal to his last 22 games for Atletico Madrid.
The Turkish international star is expected to feature against Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Cup quarter-finals at the San Mames stadium.
