Arda Turan signs pre-contract agreement with Chelsea

Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan has signed a ‘pre-contract agreement’ with Chelsea according to Radio Marca.

Radio Marca presenter Carlos Sánchez Blas confirmed the news on his twitter page, his tweet translates to, “Arda Turan is close to Chelsea (pre-contract signed).

“Ahmet Bulut is an associate of the agent Jorge Mendes, Felipe Luis is also represented by Jorge Mendes.”

Turan has made it clear that he wants to leave Atletico this summer and confirmed that his agent is in talks with number of clubs.

Manchester United were favourites to sign the 28-year-old but it now seems Chelsea are in pole position to land the Turkish international’s signature,

Turan became the first Turkish international to win the La Liga with Atletico Madrid in the 2013-14 season.

The 28-year-old has also won the Europa League, European Super Cup and the Spanish Cup with the Rojiblancos. The bearded winger was also part of the Atleti side that reached the 2013-14 Champions League final.

The Atleti star still has two-years left on his current deal and a release clause worth €41 million.
