Gonzalez scored an own goal just a minute later and Antoine Griezmann doubled the home sides lead in the first half.
Griezman now has 16 goals for the Rojiblancos this season.
Turan worked well with Gamez down the right-hand side and put in a characteristically hard working performance.
The Turkish international has won the Europa League, European Super Cup, Spanish Cup and La Liga since joining Atleti from Galatasaray.
Turan has been struggling with injuries recently but is expected to be ready for the La Liga title holders Champions League clash against Real Madrid next week.
