Arsenal accept Galatasaray bid for star defender

Arsenal have accepted a bid from Galatasaray for the France international defender Mathieu Debuchy.

The Metro reports that Debuchy is set for a permanent move away from the Emirates this summer.

Turkish sports journalist Gökmen Özdemir recently shared a tweet claiming that the Gunners have accepted a loan bid from the Istanbul giants.

However, the Lion’s are yet to agree personal terms with the French defender. ‘Arsenal and Galatasaray have reached an agreement on Debuchy. The player with his family are expected to make the final decision,’ Özdemir Tweeted.

Debuchy spent the second half of last season on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux but only made nine appearances due to injury. Galatasaray previously signed the Ivory Coast international right-back Emmanuel Eboue from Arsenal.

The 31-year-old still has another three-years remaining on his Arsenal contract but has made just 12 appearances for the club since joining in July 2014.
