Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confident Mesut Ozil will sign new deal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated that he believes Mesut Ozil will sign a contract extension despite contract talks reportedly stalling.

The 27-year-old is Arsenal’s most expensive signing however, following a disappointing end to the season Ozil is seeking assurances that the squad will be strengthened in the summer.

Wenger went onto state that Arsenal are in no rush and that Ozil is keen to remain at the North London based club.

“You know these two players have two years contract to go at the end of the season,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the Express.

“We’re not in a hurry. We are talking. The players are very keen to stay.”

Ozil has provided the highest number of assists in the Premier League this season (19).

The Germany international star would have had more assists to his name had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates.

Ozil has created the most chances in the league (122) but Arsenal have the lowest goal record in the top four.
