Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger heaps praise on Mesut Ozil

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on his star playmaker Mesut Ozil following his performance in the Gunners win over Manchester City.

The north London based side defeated City by a 2-1 scoreline creating a four point gap between themselves and the Citizens.

“Ozil is much more mature now, much more keen to take responsibility,” Wenger told Eurosport.

“I believe he’s developed his physical attributes and commitment. You can see his desire to win.

“He plays to win the game. His talent is exceptional and he realises he can help us in every single game.”

The 27-year-old received a a rating of 8.1 from Whoscored for his performance on the night. Ozil took 59 touches on the ball, made two key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of 89%. The Germany international also contributed to Arsenal when it came to defence. Ozil made four successful tackles and one interception.

The Gunners are now just two points off league leaders Leicester City. The Gunners take on Southampton in their next league game.
