Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he believes Mesut Ozil has done enough to win the PFA Player of the Season award.

Ozil has provided the highest number of assists in the Premier League (19) and created the highest amount of chances (122).

The World Cup winner will however, face competition from Leicester City trio Jamie Vardy, N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez, as well as West Ham’s Dimitri Payet and Tottenham forward Harry Kane.

Wenger told the official Arsenal website: “[When it comes to] providing chances, he is miles ahead on assists and combining the goalscoring with the assists means he deserves this award.”
Ozil is not expected to win the award as Arsenal have failed to win any silverware this season. Despite creating the most chances in the league for his teammates Arsenal have actually scored the fewest goals in the top four.
The Germany international of Turkish origin has won four Arsenal player of the month awards this season and is likely to pick up the player of the season award as well.
