Arsenal boss confident Barcelona target Mesut Ozil will sign contract extension

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil Arsenal transfer news

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stated that he is confident that Mesut Ozil will sign a contract extension.

The 27-year-old has two years remaining on his deal with Arsenal and has been in scintillating form of late.

“They have a two-year contract,” Ozil was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

“When I talk to them they are happy and they want to extend their contracts so I don’t think it’s a problem. That will be done in the summer.”

Ozil is currently reported to earn a total of £12.43 million per-season, £8.43 million of which stems from salary and bonuses while £4 million derives from sponsorship which makes him the highest paid Gunners player in the current team.

Ozil has returned to training after starting two games for the Germany national team.

Arsenal take on Watford FC in the Premier League this weekend as they look to continue their title hopes.
