Arsenal boss wants 'more goals' from Mesut Ozil this season

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wants more goals from Mesut Özil this season.

Wenger also praised the Arsenal playmaker as being magnificent against Crystal Palace in the 2-1 win over their London rivals.

“What I told you is what I want from him more is a few more goals this season. For the rest of the build-up in the game he was magnificent,” Wenger was quoted as saying on the official Arsenal website.

Özil only has 12 goals in 75 appearances for the Gunners. The World Cup winner has never had the most prolific goal scoring record wherever he has played.

The 26-year-old playmaker had 27 goals in 159 games for Real Madrid and 16 goals in 108 matches for Werder Bremen.

Özil provided the assist for Olivier Giroud’s opening goal against Palace and made the most key passes in the Premier League today according to Whoscored.com.

The Arsenal star is better known for assist making ability and has setup a total of 24 goals for the Gunners since joining on a £42.5 million record breaking transfer fee in 2013.

Arsenal moved into 11th place on three points after two games following the win over Palace.
