Arsenal transfer news: Mesut Ozil Amine Gulse

Mesut Özil has stated that Arsenal can now cut it against the Premier League strongest sides after learning from past mistakes.

The 27-year-old went onto stated that the Gunners have improved since dropping points against the leagues top cubs last season.

“When you look at the past seasons, we’ve always been a technically-strong team but when we played against big teams, we dropped points,” Özil told Arsenal’s official website.

“In the second half of last season and in this year so far, we’ve proved ourselves against the biggest teams.

“You learn from your mistakes and we can measure ourselves with the best. That distinguishes us as a team.”

Arsenal are also understood to be ready to offer Ozil a contract extension until 2019. Özil was signed from Real Madrid for a club record £42million back in August 2013.

The Germany international has hit a rich vein of form which includes goals against Manchester United and Bayern Munich as well as providing assists in six consecutive Premier League games.

Özil currently has the most assists in the top five European leagues – England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

The Gunners currently sit second in the Premier League with 26 points in 12 games. Arsenal take on West Brom this weekend.
