Arsenal keeping tabs on Galatasaray defender

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Galatasaray defender Semih Kaya according to Turkish football pundit Mehmet Demirkol.

Speaking on the NTV Sport show Spor Servisi Demirkol said: “I know Arsenal are scouting Semih Kaya.” 

Despite being just 24-years-old Semih Kaya is a highly experienced centre back. Kaya has been Galatasaray’s first choice centre back for the past five seasons and has appeared in four UEFA Champions League campaigns including a last 16 and quarter final encounter.

The experienced defender is also a regular Turkish international call up and is expected to feature for the Crescent-Stars in the 2016 European Championships.

Despite being aged only 24, Kaya has already been tipped as a future Galatasaray captain and has been likened to the clubs legendary defender Bulent Korkmaz.

Kaya rose through he youth ranks at Galatasaray before being introduced into the first team by current Turkish national team boss Fatih Terim.

The central defender still has another three years left on his contract at Galatasaray and is valued in the region of £8 million.
