Arsenal & Liverpool receive boost after German star dismisses talk of deal

Arsenal and Liverpool have been handed a boost in the race to sign Ilkay Gundogan after the German star’s agent dismissed reports linking his clint with a move to Manchester City.

The Daily Star claimed that Gundogan had struck a deal with the City Blues however, the 25-year-old’s agent refuted the claim during an interview with Bild.

“It is not true. There is no decision and everything is still open,” Gundogan’s agent told Bild.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal are still interested in signing the Germany international according to the Daily Star newspaper.

Gundogan’s current contract with Dortmund expires in June but he is rumoured to have refused to sign a new deal.

City are reported to be leading the race to signing he 24-year-old midfielder. Citizens sporting director Txiki Begiristain has already met with Gundogan’s uncle and agent Ilhan Gundogan regarding a summer deal.

Italian giants Juventus are also reported to be in the race to sign the Germany international of Turkish origin.
