Arsenal set sights on Danish international as solution to defensive crisis

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Fenerbahce’s star defender Simon Kjear according to the BBC journalist David Ornstein.

Ornstein took to Twitter to reveal that the Gunners have set their sights on alternative names after failing to land Shkodran Mustafi. The BBC reporter goes onto say that the Gunners have failed to strike a deal with Valencia over the Germany international and have instead set their sights on Kjear.

Kjear joined Fenerbahce from the Ligue 1 side Lille for £6.5 million and has gone onto make 45 appearances for the Istanbul Giants.

Arsenal are in desperate need of defensive reinforcement after Per Mertesacker, Gabriel and Koscielny were ruled out of the opening Premier League game of the season which the North London based outfit lost 4-3 against Liverpool at the Emirates.

Fenerbahce take on the Swiss side Grasshoppers in the Europa league qualification clash this week.
