Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to celebrate Earth Day.
The 27-year-old stated that humans have a responsibility to maintaining the wellbeing of the planet.
Ozil uploaded a picture with a quote and added the caption, “2016 to the most beautiful planet in this solar system! But don’t forget that we have a responsibility for maintaining it.”
Arsenal take on relegation battlers Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday. The north London based side moved back into third place after the win over West Brom.
Ozil is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up on Sunday.
The Germany international has been in exceptional for this season and has provided the highest number of assists in the league this season (18).
The Germany international is just two assists off matching Theirry Henry’s Premier league record. Despite his impressive assist record Ozil was surprisingly left out of the PFA player of the year team.
