Arsenal star dismisses Real Madrid link

Arsenal star Arsenal v Chelsea

Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has played down reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Germany international stated that there is no truth to the stories linking him with a return to Spain and that he is focused on his future at Arsenal.

“I have watched a lot of games involving Zidane. He was one of the most clever players in the world,” Ozil told Spox.

“But that does not say anything about my future. I am only thinking about Arsenal. There is no truth in the speculation linking me with a return to Spain.”

During his interview with Spox, Ozil also said “Looking at our season so far, we have to be honest and admit that we screwed up ourselves.”

Arsenal do have a game in hand and could close the gap with Leicester to eight points once they catch up but they face a tough task in overtaking both the Foxes and north London rivals Tottenham with eight games left.

Ozil has 19 assists and seven goals in 38 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
