Arsenal star Mesut Özil called up to the Germany national team

Arsenal’s playmaker Mesut Özil has been called up to the Germany national team. Lukas Podolski who is on loan at Inter Milan has also been called up by manager Joachim Löw.

Özil has 25 assists and 17 goals for Germany in 51 games. The 26-year-old has a passing accuracy of 89% while on international duty from 2925 passes.

The World Cup winner was voted February Arsenal Vitality Player of the Month and has provided the highest number of assists for his side since his return from injury.

World champions Germany face 2015 AFC Asian Cup winners Australia in a friendly on Wednesday before their Euro 2016 qualifier in Tbilisi four days later.
