Arsenal star Mesut Ozil expected to play against England

Arsenal star Mest Ozil is likely to feature against England in the International friendly set to be played at the in Berlin on Sunday.

Ozil was expected to miss the friendly games after picking up an ankle injury during last weekends Arsenal 2-0 victory against Everton.

Germany national team boss Joachim Low revealed in his press conference that Ozil has recovered and returned to training: “Mesut Ozil, Karim Bellarabi and [Julian] Draxler should be available the training tomorrow.” 

Ozil is one of two ethnic Turks in the current Germany national team with the other being Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan usually makes the cut but he was left out of the side due to injury.

The Turkish national team also has several players who were born in Germany such as Bayer Leverkusen free-kick maestro Hakan Calhanoglu, Mainz 05 star Yunus Malli and Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin.

Germany take on Italy first on Saturday before taking on rivals England the following day.
