The World Cup winner had been heavily criticised by sections of the press for his performances at the early stages of the season.
The 26-year-old has however, been in impressive form since his return and is expected to feature in the Gunners FA Cup 5th Round tie against Middlesbrough on the weekend.
Özil has played five games since returning from a long spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury he sustained last October.
The Arsenal star has now scored three times and created two assists in his last four games in all competitions for Arsenal.
The Gunners are the reigning FA Cup champions and the cup is currently Arsenal’s most realistic chance at winning silverware this season.
