Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is the 'brain of the team' says club legend

Mesut Ozil is the ‘brain’ of Arsenal’s team according to the Gunners legend Thierry Henry.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal forward stated that Ozil has begun to show his true potential following a difficult start to his Arsenal career.

“Right now, he’s the brain of the team,” Henry stated on Sky Sports News HQ on Friday morning.

“Rightly so, people were having a go at the beginning when he arrived at Arsenal because they thought that he wasn’t performing the right way, especially with the quality that he has.

“But obviously this year, he’s doing it and he’s doing it well.”

Ozil has already provided 16 assists in the Premier League this season and is just four assists away from matching Thierry Henry’s record tally of 20.

Arsenal missed out on topping the Premier League table after suffering a 1-0 loss against Chelsea in the London derby yesterday.

Mesut Ozil’s 100th game for the north London based club ended in a disappointing defeat. Arsenal have now slipped down to third place and are just two points ahead of their bitter rivals Tottenham.
