Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has been linked with a move to Manchester United by the Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.

The report claims that Ozil is considering a move to old Trafford if Jose Mourinho is appointed as manager of Manchester United over the summer.

TMW goes on to state that Mourinho wants to bring his former player to United.

However, the report seems highly unlikely given Arsenal’s financial position and their reluctance to offload its stars to Premier League rivals.

Ozil played under Moureingo during his spell at Real Madrid. The 27-year-old has recently revealed that he wants to work with the current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane one day in a recent interview with French magazine Surface.

The World Cup winner responded to the question of whether he would like to play for a side managed by Zidane by saying: “Of course! I get along very well with him, either as an individual or as a manager. But in football you do not know what tomorrow will bring, everything is possible. You never know what will happen.”

Ozil has recorded 18 assists and with two matches left this season he still has a chance of matching the Premier League record of 20 set by Thierry Henry.
