Arsenal’s playmaker Mesut Özil has revealed the secret behind his recent run of form in an interview with the clubs official website.
The 27-year-old has hit a rich vein of form which includes goals against Manchester United and Bayern Munich as well as providing assists in six consecutive Premier League games.
Özil has stated that extra hours on the training grounds have helped improve his finishing ability.
“After training there are a few shooting drills that can help with self-belief,” Özil told Arsenal.com.
“Every player wants to score goals. I’m intending to score more this season than in previous years. It’s most important for us to perform well and to be successful.
The World Cup winner currently has the most assists in the top five European leagues – England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Özil has provided 10 assists in 11 league games for the Gunners this season and has two goals in all competitions.
The 27-year-old has provided assists in six consecutive games a Premier League record and has created the highest number of chances in the current Arsenal team.
