Arsenal star Mesut Ozil stars in Germany 2-0 win over Hungary

Mesut Ozil started tonight for Germany’s 2-0 victory over Hungary in their final international friendly ahead of Euro 2016.

The 27-year-old played the full 90 minutes in his favoured number ten position behind the striker Mario Gotze.

An Adam Lang own goal gave the home side the lead in the 39th minute while Thomas Muller doubled his sides lead midway through the second half.

Germany take on Ukraine in their first game of Euro 2016 on June 12.

Ozil was also voted Player of the Season for his efforts but his club were unable to lift a trophy. The 27-year0old has had a terrific season at Arsenal providing the highest number of assists in the Premier League (19).

The Germany international narrowly missed out on breaking the all time record for setting up the most goals in a single Premier League season currently held by Thierry Henry (20).
