Arsenal star Mesut Özil will make history tomorrow if he provided an assist against West Brom in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old already holds the Premier League record for assists provided in consecutive games (6) and will break his own record is he sets up a goal tomorrow at the Hawthorns.

Özil has provided 10 assists in 11 league games this season which is the best record in Europe’s top five leagues – England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

The World Cup winner has created more chances than any other player in Europe according to Opta. Özil has created a total of 54 chances this season which is seven more than his closest rival Dimitri Payet of West Ham.

Özil has had plenty of time to rest as Germany national team boss Joachim Low left him out of the squad against France and the Netherlands.

The Germany international of Turkish origin missed the clash against France at the Stade de Paris which took place the same day of the attacks in the French capital.
