This will leave Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny, Santi Cazorla and Granit Xhaka battling for a place in the middle of the pitch.

In other Arsenal team news Alexis Sanchez is also likely to start as is Germany international of Turkish origin Mesut Ozil.

Burnley are currently 14th on seven points and have lost both of their away games in the Premier League this season. The Gunners meanwhile have won their last two games at the Emirates stadium.
