Arsenal transfer news: Sevilla plot January swoop for Gunners target

Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Besiktas playmaker Oguzhan Ozyakup.

Arsenal could face competition from Spanish giants Sevilla for Besiktas star midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup.

A source close to the club told Turkish-football.com that the La Liga outfit and the Gunners have been scouting Ozyakup and that Sevilla have made an enquiry.

Besiktas are keen to keep Ozyakup on until the end of the season but will consider offers for their star man next summer if his valuation is matched.

Arsenal have yet to make a formal approach for Ozyakup but have been monitoring his progress.

The 24-year-old is of course no stranger to Arsenal having first made a name for himself in the club academy before joining Besiktas in 2012 in pursuit of regular first team football.

Ozyakup currently has two goals in four games for the Black Eagles this season and another two-years remaining on his contract.

In other Arsenal transfer news the the Mundo Deportivo claim that Hector Bellerin is open to a return to Barcelona.
