Arsenal v Liverpool: Probable Starting Line-ups – Emre Can & Mesut Ozil set to start

Arsenal welcome Liverpool to the Emirates for their first Premier League game of the season.

The Gunners are facing a crisis in defence with Koscielny, Mertesacker and Gabriel all out but head coach Arsene Wenger did have a late boost among his attacking options after Mesut Ozil was declared fit for action.

Liverpool welcome back Emre Can who is expected to play his first 90 minutes this summer after only managing first half displays over the pre-season after returning late to the squad following a lengthy Euro 2016 campaign.

Elsewhere Daniel Sturridge and James Milner remain doubts but Dejan Lovren and Marko Grujic have both recovered from injures.

Goalkeeper Loris Karius is out injured while Mamadou Sakho is out with an achilles injury.

The Gunners have a pretty impressive track record against Liverpool having lost just on of their last nine Premier League meetings against the Reds.

Liverpool have won just the once in their last 20 visits to face the Gunners but will be facing a weakened back-line this time around.
