The former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher heaped praise on Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil during the Gunners 2-1 win over Manchester City.
Carragher stated that Ozil was the difference between the two sides on the night.
“It’s the Mesut Ozil show, he has been the one, he has been the difference. He’s had the two moments in the first half and two assists.” Carragher stated on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports 1.
Theirry Henry – who is also a pundit on Monday Night Football – agreed with Carragher and went onto state that the Germany international outshone Manchester City’s David Silva on the night.
“We were debating about Ozil and David Silva and I think tonight, Ozil won that fight and closed the debate.”
Ozil played a key role in Arsenal’s win over Manchester City yesterday evening. Arsenal secured their second spot and are four points clear of City going into the busy festive period.
The Gunners are now just two points off league leaders Leicester City. The Gunners take on Southampton in their next league game.
