Arsenal's contract rebel Mesut Ozil demands Premier League success as Real Madrid link looms

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil Arsenal transfer news

Mesut Ozil has stated that he wants to play at successful teams which win titles and that he is yet to win the Premier League or UEFA Champions League.

The quote comes amid a report in the German outlet Bild which states that the 27-year-old is open to a move back to Real Madrid. Ozil enjoyed a successful spell at Madrid where he won the La Liga title.

“I have always said that I want to play successful football and win titles,” Ozil was quoted as saying by ESPN.

“I’m yet to win the English championship or the Champions League.”

Arsenal fans may be nervous seeing that Ozil has just two seasons remaining on his contract after joining for £42 million back in 2013. According to The Times, Ozil is concerned that Arsenal have not competed for major titles in the past two seasons nor have they shown ambition in the transfer market this summer.

Arsenal take on Liverpool in their opening game of the 2016-17 Premier League season this weekend.
