Mesut Özil has stated that he will be back to his best at the end of January.
The 26-year-old played his first game since damaging his knee ligaments during a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in October.
“I am happy, that I could play a couple of minutes. Of course I am not at 100 percent, I only trained with the team once on Saturday, but I hope that I will be back at 100 percent end of January,” Özil was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
“I am just satisfied to be back on the pitch again and that I can kick the ball with my team-mates. I missed that so much.
“The match against Stoke was perfect. We dominated and we got the three points so that makes me even happier.”
Özil has made two assists and scored one goal in ten appearances for the North-London based club this season.
