Arsenal playmaker Mesut Özil expressed his delight at qualifying to the next round of the FA Cup with a post match Facebook post.
The 26-year-old made his first start for the Gunners since suffering a knee injury during his sides clash against Chelsea back in October 2014.
Özil posted a picture of himself on Facebook along with the caption, ‘The FA cup really is magical! After giant killings yesterday it’s great to be through to the next round!’
Özil received a rating of 7.70 from Whoscored, the 26-year-old made three successful key passes in the game and scoring a goal. The record Arsenal signing was taken off in the 80th minute in place of Francis Coquelin.
The former Real Madrid star found the back of the net with a well placed shot in the 24th minute.
The World Cup Winner was part of the Arsenal side that won the FA Cup last season, ending the North London club’s nine year trophy drought.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder now has two assists and two goal in 11 appearances for the Gunners this season.
