Arsenal's star playmaker relives World Cup winning glory

Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to reminisce about Germany’s World Cup win in Brazil.

It is two years to the day where Germany defeated Argentina in extra time to lift the golden trophy for the forth time in their history.

Ozil uplaoded a picture of himself holding the World Cup along with the caption, “Two years ago – I kissed the cup and I liked it. A magnificent night in a wonderful country!”

Ozil was voted voted as Germany’s ‘player of the tournament’ on the German FA’s official website. The 27-year-old eat fellow star performers Toni Kroos and Jerome Boateng to clinch pole position.

The 27-year-old scored one goal and provided one assist during Germany’s run to the semi finals. The Arsenal playmaker also boasted a pass accuracy of 91% and created 48 chances for his team-mates throughout the tournament.

Ozil finished last season as the leading assist provider in the Premier League (19) and was name Arsenal player of the season.
