Atletico Madrid miss Barcelona star Arda Turan says Sid Lowe

Arda Turan

Atletico Madrid miss the Turkish international Arda Turan who joined Barcelona during the summer according to the Guardian reporter Sid Lowe.

Turan joined the La Liga champions for £24 million from Atletico Madrid last month.

“They probably do miss Arda Turan because he was different to the other players they got in terms of creativity, one of the players who would slow the game down and see passes that I don’t think anybody else in the team really sees,” Lowe said on Guardian’s football weekly Extra podcast.

Atletico Madrid have won four and lost two of their opening six games in La Liga. Turan’s former side were defeated at home by Benfica in the UEFA Champions League during the week.

FIFA recently rejected Barcelona’s request to register Turan in place of the injured Rafinha according to the Spanish newspaper Marca.

The 26-year-old is busy preparing for the Turkish national teams key Euro 2016 Group A qualification games against the Czech Republic and Iceland which will determine whether the Crescent-Stars make it to the play-offs or not.

Turan has not been assigned a shirt number either he will have to also wait until the turn of the year to find out what number he will wear.
