Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan provided his third assist in four games following the 2-0 win against Elche.
Turan setup Jose Gimenez for the opening goal on 16 minutes.
Mario Mandzukic scored Atleti’s second goal to wrap up a comfortable win at the Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero on Saturday.
Turan has now scored three times and provided five assists this season for the Rojiblancos.
The Turkish international was recently nominated for UEFA.com users’ Team of the Year 2014.
Atleti coach Diego Simeone praised his players following the win.
“The team played very well, played a very serious game, started well,” Simeone said.
“They understood well where they could do damage and the set-piece move was very well managed. In the second half we were very consistent on the pitch.
“It seems easy when the game is over, but it is not so easy while it is actually taking place.”
Atleti are currently in third place just four points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
