Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang warned his side not to be complacent against Galatasaray in the Champions League Group D despite beating the Lions 4-0 in Istanbul.

“Our target is to wrap up qualification for the last 16 as quickly as possible,” Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang told bundesliga.com in an exclusive interview.

“It would be a phenomenal achievement to get it done after four games. It’d definitely give us a great lift ahead of our next few games in the Bundesliga.

“We’re happy to be playing in the Champions League again.

“We don’t want to be thinking about our form in the Bundesliga. We dominated Galatasaray in the game in Istanbul, but that doesn’t mean we’ll win like that again. We’ll need to be really focussed and get right into our rhythm.

“We have to show Galatasaray respect.

“After the humiliation of losing at home, they’re bound to show a reaction. There’s absolutely no way we’ll be underestimating them. There’s a long way to go yet.”

Aubameyang scored twice against Galatasaray in the last round and has a total of three goals and one assist in the Champions League this season.

The 25-year-old forward is the third highest rated player in the Champions League according to Whoscored – 8.44 average score.

Aubameyang joined Dortmund for £11.5 million in 2013 from St. Etienne. The Gabon international has 25 goals and nine assists in 63 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
