Babel – ‘Liverpool is still a part of me’ [divider]
Kasımpaşa winger Ryan Babel revealed that his former club Liverpool remains a big part of his life.
Babel still has a house in Liverpool and keeps in contact with the friends he made while playing there.
“Most of the games I try to follow, but I am obviously also playing myself, so sometimes my games are at the same time as Liverpool’s, so I’ll watch the highlights,” Babel told the official Liverpool website.
“Liverpool is still definitely a part of me. Since I left, I’ve remained a big fan. I still have a house in Liverpool and some friends there. They are a part of me and have been a part of my life in my personal development. It was a good experience.”
Babel scored a total of 22 goals in 146 appearances for Liverpool between 2007-11 and later joined Kasımpaşa on a free transfer from Ajax in 2013.
The 28-year-old has six goals and four assists in 20 appearances for the Süper Lig outfit this season.
Kasımpaşa are currently ninth in the Süper Lig on 29 points.
The Istanbul based club have underperformed this season and are 11 points off a top four place.
Kasımpaşa travel to Konya to take on Konyaspor on the weekend.
