Gençlerbirliği manager Mesut Bakkal underlined that his side should start being taken more seriously following their 5-2 win over Kasımpaşa.
“Our aim was to win and we won, it is time teams stop underestimating us, we are not just going to roll over now that we are safe in the league,” Bakkal told Lig Tv.
The Ankara based side have now won their last two consecutive home games. Gençlerbirliği beat Fenerbahçe 2-1 two weeks ago and have only lost one of their last six games.
The win took Gençlerbirliği into 8th place on 35 points after 26 games. The capital side are now just eight points off a European place.
Jan Wouters took charge of his second game as manager of Kasımpaşa.
Wouters almost got off to a winning start against Galatasaray in the last round when they were 2-0 up after 45 minutes. However, the Istanbul giants came away with three points after scoring three goals in the second half.
Kasımpaşa dropped into 13th place on 29 points following the defeat against Gençlerbirliği.
