Arda Turan seems to have brought out the best in Lionel Messi. Ever since making his debut against Espanyol in the Spanish Cup Last 16 first-leg tie the Argentinian star has scored five goals culminating with a hat-trick in the 4-0 La Liga victory over Granada on Saturday.
Turan recently called Messi a gift to the world from God and the Barcelona star repaid the kind words in his Ballon D’or press conference today.
Messi revealed that in his opinion Barcelona are a better team since the arrival of Turan and it is hard to argue with the stats. The reigning La Liga champions have won both games in which the Turkish international has started scoring eight goals and Turan has even provided an assist.
“I think we’ll be a better team with Arda,” Messi told reporters.
Messi has seven goals in the league this season and the first of his hat-trick against Granada was provided by none other than Turan.
The Argentinian international will find out whether he himself, Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar will pick up the Ballon D’or award this evening.
