Barcelona boss pleased with Arda Turan performance against Latvia

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique was pleased with Turkish national team star Arda Turan following the Crescent-Stars 1-1 draw against Latvia on Thursday 3 September according to AS.

Enrique was reported to have watched the game and was impressed with the bearded winger considering he has had no match practice.

Turan played his first competitive game since joining the reigning La Liga champions on a lucrative five-year deal from Atletico Madrid over the summer.

The 28-year-old is however, unable to play for the Champions League title holders until the turn of the year as Barcelona are currently serving a FIFA transfer ban which restricts them from registering new signings until January.

The Turkish international winger started for Crescent-Stars and despite providing an assist his side were unable to record all three points.

A win would have took Turkey past the Netherlands into third place but Fatih Terim’s side will get another opportunity to overtake the Dutch as they face them at the Konya Torku Arena on Sunday 6 September.
