Barcelona boss still unsure about Arda Turan’s best position

Barcelona v Sporting

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique stated that he was pleased with Arda Turan’s debut Spanish Cup and La Liga performances but revealed that he is still unsure what his best position is.

Enrique does however, believe that Turan’s strongest position will become more clear as he gains more playing time.

“He was good, he lacks a bit of rhythm, but he brings dynamism, freshness… we are happy with him,” Enrique was quoted as saying by Sport.

“We will see [Arda’s best position] as he plays more game.”

Enrique underlined that Turan has yet to be released into forward positions and that he will add more versatility to Barcelona’s game.

“We’ve still not seen him getting forward a lot, he’s a player that drives forward, sets up goals… he is a player that’s going to add a lot of different things,” he added.

“He has to adapt to the way Barça player. He will need time, but I am happy.”

Turan made his debut in the 4-1 win over Espanyol in the Spanish Cup Last 16 first-leg game last Wednesday.

The bearded winger then went onto provide his first assist in the 4-0 victory over Granada last Saturday.

Barcelona have won both games and scored a total of eight goals in the two games Turan has started in since making his official debut for the club.
