Area Turan scored and provided an assist in the previous international against Qatar but was unable to break the deadlock against Greece at the Fatih Terim stadium.

Turan was also praised for trying to stop a section of Turkish fans who tried to boo the Greek national anthem.

Turan did however, manage to help extend the Crescent-Stars unbeaten run to 11 games – 10 including matches in which he has played.
The 28-year-old has been in great form for Turkey and played a key role in helping his side reach the European Championships following back to back wins against the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Iceland.
The World Cup winner must now want until January to play his next competitive game. Barcelona’s transfer ban comes to an end at the turn of the year after which they will be able to register Turan.
