Barcelona prepare bid for Fenerbahce target Sofiane Feghouli

Sofiane Feghouli West Ham transfer news

Barcelona have set their sights on Fenerbahce’s target Sofiane Feghouli according to the Spanish newspaper Sport.

The report states that Barcelona’s sporting director Robert Fernandez is on the lookout for a replacement for Pedro who joined Chelsea in the summer.

Feghouli is yet to sign a contract extension with Valencia as the player’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season. The Algerian international wants a salary increase, but Los Che are reluctant to match his demands.

Tottenham were also closely linked with the Algeria international by the Daily Star earlier this year. The Premier League club sent scouts to monitor Feghouli’s performances but are yet to table an offer. Valencia are understood to be holding out for €10 million for their attacking midfielder.

Former United stars Van Persie and Luis Nani both joined the Fenerbahce last month. Also Lille defender Simon Kjaer, 2014-15 Süper Lig top scorer Fernandao, Turkish international Şener Özbayraklı and Brazil international Josef De Souza have also signed over the transfer window.

Feghouli provided eight assists and scored six goals in 33 appearances for Valencia last season.
